ABOUT THE FAMILY

Jesus and Esveldi Grisel were living in Cuernavaca, Morelos until two years when they moved their family to Puerto Peñasco. They have two children together as well as Grisel’s two children from a previous relationship. Jesus has experience as an auto mechanic and currently has a job at a gas station where he earns around $80 a week. Grisel likes sewing and baking and is currently dedicated to her home and family. The family is paying about $175 a month for rent as well as paying for their land lot. With Jesus’ limited income, they are unable to afford the cost of building a home on their own. A house from 1MISSION would give Jesus and Grisel a safe and decent place to raise their family while freeing them from their rent payments, offering them better ability to meet their daily needs and work towards a stable future. UPDATE: THE FAMILY IS EXCITED TO BE LIVING IN THEIR NEW HOME! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

HOW THIS FAMILY EARNED THEIR HOUSE

Our Earning by Learning initiative gives families the opportunity to build at their own capacity while at the same time, furthering sustainable development in their own community. Families can participate in classes centered on home budgeting, gardening, sewing, basic education and much more. Families also become connected with their communities by participating in projects such as building each other’s homes, cleaning their neighborhoods, and serving in local schools and churches. This sustainable approach results in community development that multiplies from neighbor to neighbor. By participating in their community, families not only work together, but they feel the support of their neighbors and develop relationships of trust and shared burdens.

100% of donations from this campaign will go to 1MISSION's projects and programs in the field.
